Nigori Sake

Nigori means 'cloudy,' and this style of sake is known for its thicker and creamier texture, resembling a milk-like appearance. The 'cloudiness' is attributed to the rice sediment that remains in the sake after passing through a special coarse-mesh filter. Enjoyed by the Japanese for centuries, Nigori zake is believed to offer health benefits, ranging from reducing blood pressure to improving gut and skin health.

Tasting Notes

The nose is very creamy, with lots of dairy-like lactic acid notes, and a prominent nuttiness, highlighted by more subtle notes of banana, grape, and melon.
