Gekkeikan established a state-of-the-art sake brewing facility in Folsom, California. Folsom was found to offer just the right conditions: high-quality water and an abundance of rice- the perfect setting for a skilled brewmaster backed by over three and a half centuries of experience.
Kyoto has been called “the capital celebrated for scenic beauty,” referencing its purple mountains and pure water. This pure water is the wellspring that gives birth to the smooth, mellow sake of Fushimi, Kyoto, and where the original Gekkeikan was founded as Kasagiya in 1637. These products are all brewed in Fushimi and regularly imported into the United States, ensuring the freshest taste straight from Kyoto.
